Five Night Kitchen

Use what you have

Choose roasted zucchini pieces or tender pasta ribbons

Zucchini can give a browned roast, a quick ribbon topping or a soft one-pot vegetable. Choose the cut to match the method so one large zucchini does not become several dishes with the same texture.

Measure the part you can use

Wash, remove the ends and weigh the edible raw zucchini. If a large zucchini has a tough seed center that you remove, weigh after that trimming. The site does not assume that one zucchini equals a fixed number of grams.

Choose the texture you want

Roast pieces

Use the shared roast recipe’s cut size and tray arrangement. Spread pieces with room between them; piling a large batch in one tray encourages steaming. Keep the recorded roast portions when changing dinners.

Pasta ribbons

Use the ribbon pasta recipe for thin strips that cook quickly. Keep the strips broad enough to handle, and stop when just tender; they should not need the same oven time as roast chunks.

One-pot pieces

For chickpea couscous or rice, keep the stated liquid and order of addition. The vegetable releases moisture, but guessing a new water ratio can leave the grain undercooked.

When the result is not quite right

A watery roast usually needs more tray space or better drying after washing. Split the next batch rather than extend cooking until every piece collapses. Ribbons that break apart need a shorter, gentler finish.

Allocate your zucchini

Choose dinners in the list below. Stock is assigned in that order; any shortfall remains visible. This only totals zucchini, so check every full recipe for its other ingredients and method.

No dates, freshness assessment or prepared-batch credit are applied here. This worksheet stays separate from your saved week. Select usable food and schedule it within its actual storage limits.

Open a complete week

The week opens with its own saved settings. Add your stock there to deduct it from the full shopping list.

Keep and prepare your stock

Refrigerate cut zucchini. If you choose to preserve raw surplus, follow a tested summer-squash freezing method. Thawed squash is best planned for cooked dishes rather than a crisp raw garnish.

Avoid this mix-up

Do not mix already prepared roast weight with raw zucchini stock. The planner records prepared roast as a separate batch.

Use the storage guide for prepared batches, and follow actual product labels. Our recipe and quantity checks are not a real cooking trial.
