Cut bell peppers for quick noodles, a soft sauce or roasted soup
Thin strips soften quickly, while a pepper half can roast until its skin blisters. Choose the meal first so a mixed pack gives you distinct dinners instead of one uneven batch of chopped peppers.
Measure the part you can use
Remove stalks, seeds and the white membranes you will discard, then weigh the raw flesh. The selected noodles, egg sauce and soup use 200g, 250g and 400g respectively at two servings. With 800g of trimmed peppers, the final allocation is 50g short. Color is a choice of flavor and appearance, not a separate extra ingredient allowance.
Choose the texture you want
Thin strips for noodles
Cut the strips before starting the ginger tofu stir-fry. Brown the tofu first, then cook the pepper with the carrot before adding aromatics and noodles. Strips cut much wider than the recipe specifies can stay firm while the garlic and noodles overcook.
Small pieces in an egg sauce
Pepper and tomato eggs softens the pepper before the tomatoes go in. Check that a piece bends, then reduce the sauce before making wells for the eggs. A pepper can look brightly colored and still be too firm for this softer dish.
Roasted halves for soup
The pepper and bean soup roasts halves with onion. Remove only loose blackened skin as directed when the peppers are cool enough to handle, then chop and simmer. This sequence develops a different texture from putting raw pepper cubes straight into the soup pot.
When the result is not quite right
If some stir-fry strips are crunchy and others collapse, make the cuts more consistent. For roasting, move onion pieces that brown early instead of extending their cooking with the peppers. Do not chase a uniformly black skin; the full recipe asks for blistered patches and softened flesh.
Allocate your bell pepper
Choose dinners in the list below. Stock is assigned in that order; any shortfall remains visible. This only totals bell pepper, so check every full recipe for its other ingredients and method.
850g needed · 800g from stock · 50g shortfall · 0g unassigned
| Recipe | Need | From stock | Shortfall |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ginger tofu and vegetable noodles | 200g | 200g | 0g |
| Pepper and tomato eggs | 250g | 250g | 0g |
| Roast pepper and white bean soup | 400g | 350g | 50g |
No dates, freshness assessment or prepared-batch credit are applied here. This worksheet stays separate from your saved week. Select usable food and schedule it within its actual storage limits.
The week opens with its own saved settings. Add your stock there to deduct it from the full shopping list.
Keep and prepare your stock
Keep whole bell peppers refrigerated and rinse them near use. Food Hero describes freezing cut peppers for later cooking; label that state separately. A thawed piece should not be presented as equally crisp fresh stock for a raw garnish.
Avoid this mix-up
This guide is for sweet bell peppers. Hot chiles differ in heat and intended amounts; their grams are not a direct substitute in this worksheet.
Use the storage guide for prepared batches, and follow actual product labels. Our recipe and quantity checks are not a real cooking trial.
