Five Night Kitchen

Grams, cans and cooked rice

Enter the weight you can actually cook: drained beans, edible trimmed vegetables, or dry grains. Example bean cans here contain 400g gross product and 240g drained beans; confirm your own label.

A 500g rice purchase is different from a 60g shortage. This planner rounds the shortage up to the selected package size and shows the remaining rice separately. Enter package size 0 for exact-weight purchases.

Dry rice and cooked rice are separate food states. The planner does not guess a cooked-to-dry yield or a density for gram-to-millilitre conversion. It flags incompatible pantry stock and keeps it out of deductions.

A roast shrinks. Weigh its actual cooked output, then divide by the number of labelled portions. The raw-equivalent ledger is bookkeeping; it never claims the final cooked weight.
